   I heard according to a Dato’ , one local food magazine gave a restaurant a rather bad and unfair review end up getting more then 40calls to the office and the writter also got scolded.

   Always such cases can be avoided one I think!

   But who I am to judge! 🙂

   Tapioca: but isn’t it important to be honest especially if you are a food blogger? LL isn ‘t going to say nothing just in case she gets scolded, that ‘s why we come here to read a blog with integrity – we are smart enough to realize it is her opinion, but I respect her opinion exactly because of that.

   Again, nod to LL.

   Tapioca, you have every right to judge but also every responsibility in reporting things in such a way that is constructive and leaves open the door to people to discuss it with you. If you don’t like something you should say so. We’re all customers. And if you don’t ask for it, you’re not going to get it.

   It’s a very Malaysian attitude to be averse to what we see as confrontation in reporting something we don’t like. It’s almost as if we have to tread on eggshells on the time when we go on the record.

   You don’t. Just write in in such a way that passes the message on without it being demeaning or personal. It’s how you feel and it’s valid!

   Otherwise, we are to blame for the shit service we receive. It’s part of education to constructively criticise. That’s how we improve. If other’s don’t see it that way, then we need to educate them too and so it goes on.

   as an avid fan and reader of this blog, i am rather appalled at the recent thread of comments. i wholly agree with nigel, that it is downright rude to visit someone’s blog, accuse them of CHEATING their readers. (unless you are a familiar friend, and it’s obvious it was said in jest)

   in response to M’s comment, directed at nigel, i find nothing rude in nigel’s tone, and CERTAINLY not lacking in manners. if anything, it’s M’s questioning OF nigel’s comment that IS downright rude and no manners AND i think warrants an apology.

   my dear whiff of lemongrass, thank you for always being honest and forthright with your reviews. that is why we love you.

    M, I’m sorry you think I was rude. As I said it wasn’t intended to be. Instead it was intended to be constructive. However, I further appreciate the fact that sometimes it’s not nice to hear something put in such a forthright manner.

    I’ve pondered a reply to you & I went from being smart alecky, to bitchy, to this…I’m going to say this nicely and calmly and thereafter hold my peace.

    You came to a friend’s blog (and I make no excuses for defending a friend and hope that you would defend your friend too given the same situation) and said she was “cheating.”

    How would YOU feel if I went to your facebook/blog/”home” on cyberspace and called you a “cheat and a liar?” Which is basically the same thing that you did to Lyrical Lemongrass.

    Not very pleasant is it?

    All I was saying was, in business (and I happen to know a little bit about being in retail) that you will have different opinions. Some people will like some of the stuff you do, some won’t. Fact of life.

    To get so defensive over ONE thing on the menu, seemed excessive.

    Furthermore, if you’re with the restaurant then consider this; as a potential customer, I have been seriously turned off by the fact that a Restaurant(because I can only imagine that behaving the way you did you’re either related to or with Cravings) could be so defensive and not bother listening to a customer. Now I’m thinking twice as to whether I should go or recommend any friends to go. What sort of service would I get? What food would I be served? Would I get value for money? At the end of the day, I have a limited amount of money and want to get the most value out of it right? Same with you, I’d imagine.

    A business is all about listening to the customer. Whether you feel he/she is right. You have to make the determination as to whether they are worth listening to. If they are, all well and good. Then act on it. If they’re not, less said the better as EVERYONE has their own opinion. Down to what colours your panties are.

    In addition, it’s all very well to hide behind the anonymity of your mango/m profile and not have given us the right of reply in a more personal space. Which would have been the appropriate thing to do. While it feels safe to do so, it means to me that you don’t value what you say enough to put your name on the line for it. If that’s the case, why should I value anything you say? In life, you only have one thing; YOUR OWN GOOD NAME. Money doesn’t mean shit, success doesn’t mean shit, if people think you’re shit and you act like a piece of shit (not saying you did, it’s just a figure of speech).

    You could have co-opted us instead of acting the way you did and turned us into allies. Instead, you’ve made people NOT want to go to Cravings.

    I’m not going to reply to you anymore after this as I don’t believe that someone who would not put their name to their comments warrants a reply. They don’t deserve the dignity of one and I’ve given you the benefit of the doubt up till now.

    Nigel: I believed you made a correct statements that one should not visit a blog and make wild accusations, and, that a restaurant owner should listen to all views and comments from his/her customers to further improve the food quality and services.

    LL: Thank you for your feedback of the “Monster Burger”. I have to agreed with you that the burger looked unpresentable, dry and tasteless. In fact, this burger (tasted by LL) is totally out of standards and specification. The actual “Monster Burger” appearance should look similar to the picture taken by ‘Via’. I would like to apologize to you, on behalf of Chef Ivan, that the burger served to you was not correctly prepared. Chef Ivan would appreciate the opportunity to be able to make you another monster burger for sampling and would appreciate your utmost comments of the restaurant’s signature noodle dish.

    For LL’s fan & viewers: Cravings kitchen&bistro thank everyone for their comments and suggestions. We will make all necessary improvements to meet our customers expectations. Thank you.
